9-Year-Old China Boy Lodges Dart Into Rectum While Playing at Home Alone

In yet another bewildering case of curiosity triggering a hospital visit, a 9-year-old boy in China had to have a dart removed from his colon after he shoved it up there “accidentally” (a common excuse used by many, including one man regarding a fish).

Playing at home without supervision and allowing him to do things that his parents wouldn’t allow, the mischievous boy immediately took advantage of his situation, though instead of a more predictable activity, he decided to insert a dart into his rectum (“accidentally”).

His parents quickly learned of the matter (how exactly wasn’t disclosed) and they immediately brought their inquisitive child to a medical center; doctors initially couldn’t find the dart and instead located a sizable brick of feces, where they assumed the dart had taken refuge.

Rolling with the theory, the boy was injected with a copious volume of saline so that he would defecate, and upon excavation, doctors were able to find the dart buried within the expelled mass.

The length of the dart wasn’t mentioned but it’s been suggested that they normally measure about five to seven inches.

The incident will hardly prove strange as there have been countless cases over the years where males have inserted objects up their urethra, such as instances where young boys inserted 4-inch needles and magnetic beads into the delicate area, or when adult men were found inserting thermometers and padlocks.
