Ishuzoku Reviewers has proven to be too erotic for Funimation’s “standards” as the show (and its English dub) has been expunged from the streaming platform, immediately making many curious as to why (with some naturally thinking it to be some inane political reason).
The official Ishuzoku Reviewers (Interspecies Reviewers) page on Funimation’s site kicks out a “page does not exist” message upon visiting:
One user emailed Funimation inquiring as to why the anime was dropped, leading to them sending a response saying the show “falls outside of their standards” (perhaps due to a lack of opportunities to alter dialogue to suit their agenda).
The streaming site expressed no desire to change the content (despite frequently doing just that to shows in the past) so they instead opted to deny Western viewers completely by removing it:
Funimation is also apparently excising all discussion relating to Ishuzoku Reviewers as the show’s “master thread” was seemingly deleted:
Funimation originally announced that they were planning to stream the show uncensored, but come its debut day, they aired the censored version and changed the show’s description to remove any mention of the anime being uncensored.
Whatever the explanation, Funimation’s clear intent on altering shows for their own purposes might be reason enough to make any consumer avoid utilizing their services altogether.
Its kind of funny that they’d be OK with Valkyrie Drive which has a few scenes of chicks being forcefully molested with proper nudity but not OK with this series.
Or Highschool DxD which has a whole bunch of women with giant boobs lusting after the main characters dick. But whatever, lol funimation.
And of course Testament of sister new devil Seasons 1 & 2 which were pretty much almost porn all things considered as the dude destroyed the main chicks boobs almost every other episode to keep her powers under control.
Could be the fact that Reviewers main plot is about prostitution. And funimation knows Westerners are fucking soft when it comes things like that. Like I said in about 3 posts related to this anime…. it should have been a hentai instead. It just never made any sense to make an anime based on pure sex/prostitution only to be held back not being a Hentai.

They are operating Madman and Manga entertainment in the UK as part of ANIPLEX now. Sony put funimation in charge of all English sub and dubbing for Aniplex.

To further add as 19:53, whatever. I am with other services directly from Japan, airing on the day or a few days after. One of the perks of not needing dubs, or subs for the most part for that matter.
Most people on message boards and forums are rightfully shitting on Funi for this move. Which gives me hope for the anime community.
