Look at the articles calling the 3DS a failure of a system when it launched, there were pages and pages of it, I have seen maybe 2 articles about the Vita and how pitiful its launch was. (One was the Chinese ripoff article form a few days ago and I don’t recall any others but I hope there was at least one)

  Nope. Devs have this thing called a “test device” version of the console, usually sent by the console company itself. This “Test Device” is different version from the market-released console (has more slot/hub than the market-release, etc). When the dev build the game, we can build and directly test into the test device (which is connected to the developing PC). The coding itself is still done in the PC *obviously*.
