Japanese users on social media have reported that Chinese smartphones and smart devices seemingly censor flags of Taiwan and other countries considered ‘non-China friendly.’
The flag-censoring on Chinese smartphones was first pointed out by a user on X, who noted that Huawei phones don’t display the Taiwan flag.
From there, several users chimed in, showing other examples of phones that censor the Taiwan flag. It’s worth noting that it wasn’t strictly made-in-China phones that censored flags, as the Chinese version of iPhones does the same thing.
Another user pointed out that while Chinese Macs also hide the Taiwan flag, there’s a way to fix it and have it show again. Samsung phones and other smartphones made outside of China seem to not have the issue.
I would be surprised if this wasn’t the case. China is a hellhole.
They are actually digging a hole right now so the Xi can visit his family on holidays.
I will take a censored picture of taiwanese flag any day over forced ugliness in games and overall “rainbow” agenda.
Instead of taking one kind of s♥♥t over another kind of s♥♥t, why not just stop taking any kind of s♥♥t?
I’m not OK with either. Plus one is censorship on hardware level while the other is agenda pushing, so I’m not sure why you are even saying this. The CCP also censor games to make them more tame.
imagine you upload “tank man” picture from Tiananmen 1989.
suddenly your phone stop working.
What’s the problem? Taiwan is not a country, like literally legally, you know, by international law. Why anyone should display its flag?
Ah yes, censorship in 2024, just like the good ‘ol days… some centuries ago I mean.
China is not number 1 anymore. CHINA ONLY ONE!
