A Kickstarter for the upcoming English translation of legendary slice-of-life visual novel Clannad has emerged, with Sekai Project requesting assistance from Clannad’s highly dedicated fanbase to properly bring the game to an English-speaking audience.
Sekai Project stated that they turned to Kickstarter due to the immense costs required to translate a roughly 50-hour game and to also pay for the obligatory royalties – though with contributions accumulating to a staggering $87,000 in but a day, well over half of the $140,000 goal, they look to be well on the way there.
Those desiring an official English translation of this visual novel classic can support the Kickstarter now, ending January 9th – though with legions of passionate fans having already donated a hefty portion of the goal, it will be only a matter of time before English speakers can experience the glory of Clannad firsthand.

will somebody play this game? I’m waiting for Far Cry 4,Street Fighter 5,Tekken 7 and so on.
Clannad VN has something like a few hundred thousand words in it. So they would need to hire a proper translator and those don’t come cheap. Thus the high goal to reach that has been reached on kickstarter.
50$ digital release on kickstarter probably means 60$ after launch. So, 60€ in europe. Yay!
