Democrats have decisively rejected the proposed Tokyo manga censorship regime, citing unacceptable restrictions on freedom of expression.
The bill had previously been delayed repeatedly by the Tokyo legislature in the hopes a compromise could be reached, but intense popular and Democratic opposition only seems to have hardened, culminating in the bill finally being voted down.
Whilst vote-grubbing politicians might temporarily be silenced by the rejection, the forces behind the ban, including Tokyo’s crazed ultra-right governor Ishihara and donation-grubbing cultist Agnes Chan, remain in place and likely to launch further attacks on material they regard as immoral, should they see an opening.
So in the end, all they did was making us worried…
Not funny
You don’t keep up with the news much do you Tagg? http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/12/13/dpj-backs-manga-ban/
Woot!
Glad to see not everyone feels imposing their views and ideals on others is a necessity.
I know im a lil late posting here but anyway, When is Ishihara due for re-election? If the lil sod has been supporting unpopular ideas such as the l♥♥i-ban when that time come (those of you living in Japan) plaster it all over 2ch and any other relevent site and do you best to help drag his popularity down (oh and vote against him yourselves if old enough to vote).
If his replacement wins beacuse of the publics hate for Ishihara,s unpopular views (i.e l♥♥i-ban) im sure the new guy wont be stupid enough to LOSE votes and support it himself, they are after all the only thing 99.9% of politicans really care about as it insures they remain in office.
Eh, oh well. Would have been massive lulz if it did.
Hey looks like this was the only time Democrats were good for something.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOH
