Emo kid + Otaku = HK Otaku?
Srysly, I don't think this represents all otakus in HK. I mean you will rarely see an otaku who is anorexic and who wears clothes that reminds you of emo kids.....

I've seen that image long time ago. Still managed to entice a chuckle from me.

I look around the places where the otaku would frequent, OK, maybe the otaku here are less "geekish" than the folks in Akiba, but this picture still makes me laugh in disbelief.

HK does have their fair share of overweight otaku (not me though :p), but at least they make an effort to conceal the flab in baggy and trendy dark coloured clothes.

The whole 'thin' idea is not just Otaku's (I've seen fat ones). It's a fashion trend to look thin and wear skin tight jeans Otaku or not. I've seen males with thinner waists than females *shivers* feel like I could snap them in half with my hands. There are 2 kinds that sport those clothing and walks around with a girl like that. Otakus's or really spoiled brats from rich parents. Only difference is spoiled brats tend to have more bling and can be an egotisical ass.

Though I agree with most of it, they sure didn't cover the fat kind of Otaku's lol

That's total BS. I've been to Sino plaza and there's overweight otaku there. They don't seem to be too keen on the "moe~" t-shirt thing though.

And the only girls I see are fujoshi anyways, usually in packs.

Totally false. The true otaku is never seen, or heard. A hikikimori's power level is infinite.

Their best ability is plagiarizing, so unless there are otaku that look like this for the Chinese to copy, I'm going to have to call bullshit.

No. No. I've seen Honger otakus, and they look nothing like that. Well, they ARE slightly better than what I've seen of Japanese otakus, but they don't look that cool.

yes there are many cool looking guy that often being company by their girlfriend in buying toys, game etc. But I don't know if you could really define them as "Otaku". Why the girl like to hang out with them. simple either cool looking or FULL LOADED with money
