The real deal is a fifth generation fighter with thrust vectoring, fly by wire controls, still secretive skin materials, supercruise, long range missiles with off bore sight capability, integrated helmet displays and squadron wide target sharing.

Its the kind of thing the US has deployed in the F-22 (two hundred aircraft is hardly “dead”) and will be deploying with the F-35. Its also the kind of thing the Russians have been working to develop in secret since the Berkut.
The J-20 has alot to prove… but I suspect they don’t intend to do that. Its more lucrative to sell it to an oil rich nation and leave them with the problem of figuring out the limitations.

  The J-20 is suspected to have been made by combining a modern Russian airframe with the reverse engineered skin coatings of a downed F-117. Assuming they made it for the export market then it should be quite a successful stealth aircraft… so long as it doesn’t cross paths with the real deal.
