A major Japanese boy band has been caught copying a hit Vocaloid song, enraging Miku’s legion of defenders.
The band in question is KAT-TUN, a generic boy band from the famous “Johnny’s” stable of generic boy bands. They stand accused of copying AVTechNO!’s song “DYE,” sung by Megurine Luka and published in one of Miku’s many hit albums.
The tunes:
KAT-TUN: NEVER x OVER ~「-」 IS YOUR PART~
Player 1
Megurine Luka Original: DYE (from Hatsune Miku’s “Vocalogenesis” album, an Oricon number 1)
Player 2
In response to this brazen act of plagiarism, the emotionally frail creator of the song deleted all his works from Nico due to the “shock.” He confirms that he gave no permission for any such usage of his works.
To think only days ago a traditional musician was deriding Miku for being a mere machine…
god, it’s up to personal opinion of who YOU THINK should be to blame for this song’s plagiarism. i personally blame the people who wrote KAT-TUN’s song for them, not KAT-TUN themselves who were given the song to sing, maybe having never heard the other song before. this is not a reason to call people idiots and bring them down with this mess. that is MY OPINION. people will feel the same, people will think otherwise. it’s not worth arguing.
So society is at the point where even they themselves can no longer be original. I guess it’s the end of everything.
XD I guess the song is better with KAT-TUN lol
I love the way people talking they do nothing about. Actually Johnnys bands DO play all kinds of instruments and compose thier music.
And regarding this song, it’s the creater of Over and Over should be at fault and not KAT-TUN. They didn’t create this song, but just sang the material that was given to them.
Not a fan, but it is to hard to put : REMIX on your s♥♥t…?
Then again I can’t blame the guy, when a I hear current songs of the past get remixed by all these ignornant nigglets and their dance styles.
They are worthless monkeys.
From todays, “Do the Jerk”, too the present fake dance of the time its, “Do the Swag” I slapped my nephew really hard when I saw him dress like that and said.
Learn how to fight and defend yourself if you have that much energy. He said I can defend myself, so I put him in a ring vs another kid across the street with his fathers permission from both parents.
We watch my nephew who dance, hip, get his ass beat by a nerd… now that… is entertainment.
rip off of vocaloid song? sure maybe
Kat-tun involved? maybe
people bashing boy bands and fanning over computer voices? completely idoitic and stupid >_>
yeah they do sound the same but still come on people no need to go all super vocaloid fan on the band. i mean oh wow so the ‘luka’ song ( a computerized voice) was copied abit by song writers ( NOT THE ACTUAL BAND ITSELF!!!) its the end of the world lets all rally aginst boy bands.
but oh well fan’s will be fans……. *sighs and walks away*
Maybe you’d feel better if you were the poor artist who spent hours, maybe days, maybe MONTHS to compose a song, and have someone just blatantly STEAL half of your hard work away from you- with the gall to not even change it in the slightest. Oh, and not to mention the possible copyright charges you can face, despite it being your ORIGINAL work.
And the band* is responsible for its song writers.
Puke.
And the issue isn’t with the vocaloids. It’s Kat-tun illegally stealing from another composer. Depending on the outcome of this situation, it can determine the future survival of smaller composers such as AVtechNO!. :/
