If the protagonist isn’t a sword wielding maniac in a world where swords are banned I don’t mind there not being killing. It’s the same problem I have with Trigun. If you don’t want to kill, maybe don’t pick up a weapon to fight against people that do want to kill you. Or at least don’t make it into your identity.
