The wildly popular video game Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is set to receive a manga adaptation and it’s reported that the manga won’t follow the video game narrative, which might still possibly interest fans of the game who want something new from the series.
Titled “Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – Gods of Ikusadatara”, the free to read adaptation will release on November 6th in Japan, and a western release was not yet announced. It will release free of charge on the manga publishing site Hero’s:
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin – Gods of Ikusadatara will be written by Jiji & Pinch, with Marvelous Entertainment overseeing the project. The original story will feature Sakuna finding a special fruit while out gathering ingredients. The fruit will open, giving birth to twins and setting the stage for adventure. The tale is similar to the legend of Momotarou, the boy born from a peach in Japanese folklore.

Awesome. Sakuna Of Rice and Ruin is one of my favourite games released in recent years and I’d be happy to check out what additional stories they can tell in that world.
