Live-Action Lady & the Tramp Changing “Siamese Cat Song”

Disney declared that they are changing the “Siamese Cat Song” for their live-action Lady and the Tramp movie, likely another decision backed solely by personal politics as the usual left-leaning snowflakes have labeled the song as racist over the years.

Originally recorded by Peggy Lee, Janelle Monae and Wondaland are performing the song for the live action film and have stated they are “working on a different take” – Disney’s Vice President of Creative Music and Soundtracks stated that they are working with Wondaland whilst at the MUSEXPO Creative Summit:

“We’re dealing with Wondaland, her team of incredibly creative writers and producers that she works with. So our director has engaged with her in terms of what the storytelling [of] the song needs to be.”

The Siamese Cat Song is used to introduce two Siamese cat characters who start causing chaos for one of the main characters in an attempt to frame her:

Disney is not stopping there to “protect” the sensitive children as they are also purportedly changing the Siamese cats in the song (Si and Am) by turning them into something other than Siamese cats.

The film’s main song “He’s a Tramp” is apparently also being completely “reinvented”, though humorously enough, the film will still be set in 1910 – though it will be a wonder if fans who saw the 2D movie will even recognize the live action film after all the censorship.

The politically-inclined Disney have altered their beloved films on previous occasions when turning them into live-action pieces, for example, they removed the crows from the live action Dumbo film – Producer Derek Frey discussing the subject:

“It’s funny, you hear people like, ‘Oh, I hope the crows are in it!’ But the screenplay that we received didn’t have it in there, and while I’ve never heard anything officially from Disney on it, probably any which way you’d try to represent that it wouldn’t work. It may have been something that Disney felt wasn’t necessary to include.”

The company will also be censoring the animated movies coming to its Disney+ streaming service, such as denying 1946 film “Song of the South” entirely and editing the Jim Crow character from the Dumbo movie.
