Netflix has revealed that the first season of the 3D CG Saint Seiya remake dubbed “Knights of Zodiac: Saint Seiya” will be debuting on the streaming platform in the summer of 2019.
The remake of Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya will feature character designs by Terumi Nishii (known for the anime designs of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable) and armor designs by Afro Samurai mangaka Takashi Okazaki.
The first season of the anime will feature 12 30-minute episodes covering the “Galaxian Wars” and “Silver Saints” arcs.
The announcement has also been followed by a reveal of a new visual featuring series protagonist Seiya performing his signature technique, the “Pegasus Meteor Fist”:
The series will launch globally when it premieres in 2019.

“Good heavens!” I cried. “Who would associate crime with this dear old classic anime?”
“They always fill me with a certain horror. It is my belief, Watson, founded upon my experience, that the lowest and vilest alleys on the internet do not present a more dreadful record of sin than does the smiling staff at Netflix. Anything they touch turns to ash.”
