Dead or Alive 6‘s producer Yohei Shimbori has seemingly engaged in some desperate damage control in a recent interview, this time with the producer revealing that the game’s beloved jiggling was “never removed”.
When questioned about Dead or Alive’s desirable jiggling:
4Gamer: By the way, will there be proper “jiggles” in Dead or Alive 6? We heard that the Soft Engine is being discontinued.
Yohei Shimbori: I had a feeling there’d be some misunderstandings, but I never once said that there won’t be any jiggles. This time around we’re going with a new engine, and we’re simply discontinuing the Soft Engine for a new one. But for now, please just look at the screen, it’s jiggling, right?
The two individuals present watched footage depicting the game’s jiggling – footage that was released stating that the “jiggling is back” (whether or not this was added last minute as an attempt to backpedal and appease fans is not certain):
The producer also clarified that the extent of the jiggling depends on the outfit the character is wearing:
4Gamer: It certainly is jiggly…
Yohei Shimbori: Moreover, the jiggles vary depending on the costumes. Characters that wear tougher clothing don’t show much jiggles. From here on we’ll release more loose clothing, and they’ll certainly have a different kind of jiggle, so do please look forward to seeing those.
The fact that the ladies in the previous games jiggled all over was deemed “no good” by Shimbori, in a game where giant tentacle monsters reign and fighters can survive being viciously pummeled:
4Gamer: The way it changes based on different clothing is a very realistic degree of showing jiggles.
Yohei Shimbori: In any case, thinking you can just have the entire body jiggle all over is no good. I’m pushing the engineering department’s physics team to just focus on jiggling as we create the world’s number one physics engine. It currently doesn’t have a name, so please just call it the New Engine. That’s what we’ve instructed the overseas media as well.
4Gamer: I see. New Engine, huh.
Yohei Shimbori: A natural exterior and a springy interior is the way of jiggle we’re aiming for, and I’m confident no one will likely be able to catch up with this technology we’re creating!
Some rather vital new screenshots from Famitsu were also recently divulged, showcasing Kasumi in her original outfit and Lei Fang in her high-cut China dress:
This may not prove to be enough for the numerous diehard fans who have already cast the series aside at this point, as the producer’s desire to make the girls “less sexualized” and his claim that large-breasted women are inhuman indicate the diverse new demographic he is trying to pander to at the expense of stalwarts supporters of the series.
Isn’t this odd? Sure he could say ‘I didn’t say no jiggle’ but there were no jiggle with the early reveal when presenting to westerners and their journalist however with 4gamer which is a Japanese gaming journalist he shows them with jiggles and the other costumes. Why can’t he just show them during EVO? Because western gamers are too shy of DoA but its okay when its in Japan? This really pisses me off.
I just hope this doesn’t mean they will butcher the game for global release while Japan release keeps all the good stuff.
Take off your tin foil hat, it was painfully obvious the slutty costumes/jiggle s♥♥t was going to be DLC costumes so they could make more money while saying “Hey, if they want it they payed for it, f♥♥k off!”
No, it’s not that western gamers are too shy, it’s just that they’re controlled by screechers that would slam the game for the slightest of jiggles.
Its because the westerners have bitches who would slam the developer over breast physics, while Japan would praise a perverts
westerners prefers murder over sex apparently
Just kill the SJWs and that’ll solve a lot of problems.
I think prison would be more suitable.
Yet here we have an example of westeners bitching about a LACK of jiggle (based on insufficient evidence, no less). I’d rather not see the pendulum swing to the other side, but it seems the fervor of some anti-sjws made them become like their enemies: Hysteria-Prone, impossible-to-please, impossible-to-argue-with-rationally.
False equivalency. One group is people trying to censor all the fun things in the world. The other group is people getting increasingly angry that their fun is being censored. These are not the same type of thing at all.
another case of pandering to SJW’s ending poorly. Pander to your fans not the vocal minority. I wish companys would just realize that the SJW complainers were never going to buy the game in the first place.
Inb4 the costumes with actual jiggle are all paid DLC.
Get woke, go broke lol
Actually laughed at this
“its ok!! its ok!!! see!?? jiggles!! please don’t leave us!!!”
But the basic designs still looked weird no?
Better luck next time~
