A recent interview in the Yomiuri Shimbun has informed One Piece fanatics that their highly worshiped manga that seemingly cannot end is about 80% complete; given the time it took to reach that state, fans can rest assured that there is still plenty left to go…
Eiichiro Oda, creator of One Piece, was the one to deliver the news; for those not aware, Oda has been updating fans about the progress of the series over the last few years, claiming the manga was about 50% complete in 2010, 60% in 2012 and 65% finished in 2016.
Given how much of a worldwide phenomenon it has become, many naturally believe that the creator could simply be stretching the series out so that he can milk it as much possible – the 90th volume of One Piece is scheduled for release come September 4th.
Sure, and then continues with an endless stream of movies. Don’t worry, OP fans, you’re good for pretty much forever even if there’s no sequel or spin-off.
Pretty much. Look at what they did with Naruto. You’ve got that Boruto s♥♥t. Which will just be another never-ending shonen. And then it’ll be a series about Boruto’s son.
Personally, I’m looking forward to the Naruto’s Son: Boruto’s Dad anime.
Don’t forget that dumb show Dragon Ball too and it has the nerve to make another movie. Naruto, Bleach, One Piece and Fairy Tail are all dumb, I can’t understand how people like these shows honestly.
we’ve just started Wano then we’ve got Elbaf, Raftel and the Final War. these are all gonna be 100 chapter arcs minimum lol we got a long way to go yet.
I’m not 100% certain Elbaf will even be in arc. I also doubt all those arcs will be 100 chapters minimum. From chapter 598 to 909 (roughly 300 chapters) we’ve had:
Return to Sabaody (4 chapters)
Fishman Island (50 chapters)
Punk Hazard (45 chapters)
Dressrosa (101 chapters, the longest arc in One Piece)
Zou (22 chapters)
Whole Cake Island (77 chapters)
Reverie (5 chapters)
The longest Arc before Dressrosa was Skypiea at 65 chapters. On average, Oda’s big arcs last around 50 – 60 chapters.
So…about 4 years of anime and and 3 years of manga? Thanks god, at some point I actually believed I would die before OP ended. Now I think I could actually make it to see the end.
Double those numbers. And then it’s probably like with copying a large file, where the last percent takes hours.
You just raised your own death flag….
Maaaan, my condolence….
The completion of One Piece is one of the Seven Signs that herald the End Times, and the beginning of the Annihilation of all things.
Soon it will end, yes, but shortly after all things will end, in righteous fire and Cleansing.
Enjoy reading and watching it, knowing that Death approaches.
You mean like Naruto?
At least Detective Conan and Lupin the Third are still running. If those come to an end, then the 3rd & 4th signs of the End Times will have occurred. 5th is the absolute end to DragonBall, 6th is Golgo 13, and the final sign of the End Times is the banning of all l♥♥i manga in Japan.
The author may die sooner if anything, it would be quite ironic and while I don’t wish any ill on anyone, sometimes I wish a shonen author died without finishing their story just to get the point across.
Zero no Tsukaima’s author died before the series was complete.
Remember when Vegita called bullshit on a final form? I call bullshit on once piece being near done. It ain’t even it’s final season, spin off, movie, games, jump issues….and the list goes on.
Funny how One Piece will be finished long before Miura is done with Berserk
