Those in possession of review copies for the upcoming Splatoon 2 have discovered that Nintendo will be punishing players who consistently leave online matches, a rather shocking development considering Nintendo’s reputation for maintaining a child-friendly atmosphere that caters to casuals.
A cheeky message that appears after leaving a game before it concludes, apparently found by those committing the heinous crime in a recent beta “splatfest”:
Naturally many are applauding Nintendo’s “harsh” decision as it helps eradicate children who are prone to throwing tantrums from ruining the matches of those likely far older than the game’s target demographic; successive rage-quits will however only result in a temporary ban from online play for offenders.
Splatoon 2 launches for the Nintendo Switch on July 21st.
Good, if just wanna have fun play somewhere else. Leave the rabked modes for gown up ppl!
There is one way that sucks though. As being on the crappy end of the internet connection, I’ve been disconnected from matches numerous times and lost rank because of that. Connection issues or so it says. So that’s going to kinda suck for people who get disconnected not by their own control.
Yeah you’re in control. Get a better internet. If not, play single player until you get one.
FFS.. is it that hard to think about it? Splat2n STILL has single player mode and clearly you just wanna grief people while acting so innocent saying “duhh it’s not me gaaaays is my inernet”
If it bothers you so much that other people randomly disconnect maybe you should take a step back and rethink your life.
If it bothers you so much that you got blocked from online because you’re a worthless c♥♥t shitting the game up for 7 others, maybe you should step back and rethink your life.
Anonymous15:06 Have fun with that when net neutrality dies.
> Yeah you’re in control. Get a better internet. If not, play single player until you get one.
if you see someone choking to death, do you sneer “get some oxygen”?
Nah you say:”Get better scrub!”
While laughing at the Scene on hand
If you see the same person choking on the same thing for the 50th time, do you still think it’s their first attempt at swallowing it?
Sometimes “get better internet” means “move out of the state you’re in”. Some areas they don’t give a f♥♥k how much you’re willing to pay, they just don’t have it.
Thats not a problem that other people should suffer for though, sucks to be you. I know it’s harsh but oh well.
Good. If the game is for children, this is a very, VERY good way to teach them some online etiquette. I applaud Nintendo’s decision. Let’s see how they implement it.
YES, I feel part of the reason kids are so aggressive online is lack of responsibility for their actions. Hopefully this helps.
Good. They need harsher punishments in Overwatch too.
Not new, several games have done this before. It’s a good thing tbh
This.
Even Nintendo has already done this with Smash Bros. for Wii U.
