The bizarrely popular squid sisters from Splatoon have managed to gather another horde of crazed fans at their Japan Expo concert, making some wonder what fans see in attending a concert that has incomprehensible singing (a question that some might redirect towards non-Japanese speaking western fans).
The squid sisters concert, held at Japan Expo 2016:
The ink-centric antics of Splatoon can be experienced now for the Wii U.
When I think that I COULD have gotten here but I didn’t because all the previous ones were lame. Well f♥♥k.
I was there. Nintendo staff was giving glow-sticks at the entrance. I didn’t stay long, just for one song and a half. That’s how much it took me to get bored. I don’t understand how people like this. I like and play the game!!
The live house was half packed at the beginning, but I surely believe that it didn’t deserve the hype. There were several unknown groups that didn’t get this much attention, but certainly deserved a better audience than these two sisters.
I really wonder if this is in Japan. All the guys in the band are white dudes, and the rock and roll is low grade pop. If it was in Japan they could have easily found a bunch of locals who could play the same lame tunes. And the dancing squid girls are even worse then the music. Their moves are pathetic and repetitive.
Even though I don’t play Splatoon I think it looks fun, and this is just an embarrassment.
The Japan Expo is a French convention..
original japanese is only the paipan expo™.
the music isn’t that bad, would work fine with vocaloids. but the singing is just awkward. the hired studio musicians seem to be disgusted by that crap as well.
This may be fine for the surrender toads, but this will NEVER catch on in the grand young United States of God Bless America.
Actually, this is way worse in Trying to be Great Again and Constantly EpicFailing Murrica.
Apparently the guy doesn’t keep up with video game news or else he would have known that even in the States Splatoon is actually pretty popular.
