An amusement park ride simulating the experience of being cremated has made its way to Shanghai, causing doubts as to whether the ride will somehow end up more than a mere simulation (a not unrealistic concern considering the quality of most Chinese constructions).
The ride’s creators describe their simulation as a way of “experiencing death so that participants no longer have to be afraid” – stirring doubt amongst more skeptical individuals who believe that the poorly designed ride will do little in mentally preparing someone for the afterlife, especially with so few people actually dying at their own funeral rather than at some unexpected juncture.
It is also warned that those with heart conditions and claustrophobia should give the experience a pass, lest the “realism” send them to an early grave…
i was expecting this to be an elevator shaft
Let’s try this death simulator.
…
Everything looks exactly the same.
The cake is a lie…
Why…why aren’t they coming out the other end?
I thought this was a ride…
一遍、死んで見る?
Suddenly I’m reminded of Jigoku Shojo.
