The Chinese government’s vindictive decision to turn a couple’s home into a roundabout after they refused to sell up to make way for a new road has been making headlines in China and beyond.
The couple inhabiting the Zhejiang province property claim the compensation they were offered to move was substantially less than what the property cost to build.
My UK friend has said, that’s actually quite commendable for the Chinese government to still negotiate with the resident. In UK, if it’s a government project, the residents would be forcefully removed from their house by police through eviction ‘law’, and while they get compesation, there is no legal safe guards for the amount.
And now it’s gone 🙁 🙁

If you want to mess with the drivers heads even more, put up a House Crossing sign about a half mile before the house.
I wonder if they’ll have cars pull up to their windows wanting to order take out?
China’s government is not a bully. They just saved a house from being demolished because of the construction of the highway. So cute. (sarcasm)
