Gust’s decision to magically lolificate Rorona for Atelier Meruru so they would be spared the prospect of having her as an old hag in her thirties is proving divisive, with “big Rorona” seemingly garnering much more support than “Lolina” despite the noted rorikon proclivities of series fans…
The results from the Japanese GameSpot:
Even 2ch is convinced of the merits of hag Rorona:
“Trying.”
“The big one.”
“However you look at it the big version is best.”
“Why does it come down to a hag and a loli. The 14-year-old Rorona is best though.”
“Honestly, they made her too loli. At 11-13 she would be top.”
“We should raid it and make it favour the little one.”
“The little Rorona may be called Rorona but otherwise it’s like a different character.”
“The first Rorona was best.”
“But in-game she was Lolina…”
“Harsh.”
“I hope they fix that in the Vita version.”
“Juana Olsys: 37.”
“Sterkenburug Cranach: 39”
“Estiy Erhard: 40”
“All their ages are messed up.”
Creepy barbarians join the fray, reminding everyone why western governments are rapidly catching up to China in certain select areas:
They look pretty youthful for being up there in their 30’s. I mean, damn! But then that’s not too far from reality, now is it?
Sincerely, I haven’t yet understood what’s so good in a prepubescent girl.
It seems to me like those dumbass girls who are crazy about Justin Biberon (French Term for “Baby Bottle “)… ^^
But then again the problem might be on my side, which I think that two huge boobs is the best of what a 2d girl may have to offer… ^^
Also, I don’t get what’s with all this negativity towards a character getting older. That’s life. Beauty doesn’t last forever. But I don’t even need to mention that, because the “hag” version is still incredibly beautiful and well-drawn. If that constitutes a hag, your standards and expectations are dangerously high and make you seem like an arrogant piece of s♥♥t.
Rorona getting older is interesting, while her suddenly becoming a l♥♥i is fucking stupid, but I really like both/all of the designs. I just don’t get why there seems to NEED to be a change. Whatever direction this goes, I like it though, so I don’t care which one “wins”.
The games is not even out yet and people are complaining. Before everyone gets all their pantsu further in a bunch, try playing the game and see if you like the l♥♥i version.
I think it’s an interesting idea- having played the 1st game- and trust the production staff on this one. Fans should get what they desire, and there are times when the fans should not try to curtail the creativity of the developers.
Besides, even if people complain, they will buy Meruru anyway after having played the first two games. Adding three guys in IM@S 2 didn’t stop IM@s fanboys despite the complaints in that case.
