Umezu Hideyuki, a veteran voice actor who had a longstanding career in voicing robot anime and the Super Sentai tokusatsu franchise, as well as narration, was announced on May 22nd to have died on May 17th. He was 68 years old at the time of death.
While his most famous role was as David Rutherford from Blue Comet SPT Layzner, he has made appearances in many robot anime over the years in side roles, such as the engineer Ian in Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
Gaming-wise, he voiced Namco’s classic arcade game character Bravoman and even became the voice of Dr. Wily in Rockman 11.
He was also known for narration roles, such as being the narrator of Death Note and the narrator of many dubbed works into Japanese, such as the Japanese voice role of Arthur Weasley from the Harry Potter movies.
Again.
These things come in threes.
First the dog now this poor guy (68 is too young), I’ll be waiting to see who is next.
