Holo the Wise Wolf from Spice & Wolf is becoming a virtual YouTuber for the promotion of the new anime remake for Spice & Wolf, proving that even ancient deities need to get on with the times in order to stay relevant.
Holo is set to make her “debut” on April 3rd, 2024, just a few days after the release of Episode 1 of the new anime. Her YouTube channel will mainly have variety content and “content that fits the video format.”
The videos will be uploaded on Toho Animation’s YouTube channel and the anime TikTok account every Wednesday, and viewers are invited to participate by sending in questions and suggestions.
The announcement was met with surprisingly little criticism but more surprise and intrigue. Spice & Wolf author Isuna Hasekura joked that Holo was now the true ‘Holo Live.’
I liked her better when she was called Horo by everyone.
