Final Fantasy XVI PC Version Enters Final Stage of Optimization

Final Fantasy XVI PC Version Enters Final Stage of Optimization

Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida talked about the game’s PC version in a recent interview, revealing that it is currently in the final stage of optimization.

Here’s a quote from the interview with Game Informer:

“In terms of where we are in development currently, we’re trying to figure out the final stages of optimization right now. When we can release the PC version might be dependent on that–the system requirements and specifications for PC that players will need, so we’re trying to figure that out. Naturally, [the PC specifications] are looking to be somewhat high.”

Yoshida also mentioned that Square Enix is looking to release a demo for the PC version. While he didn’t say anything about a release date, the demo for the Final Fantasy XVI PC version is expected to come out sometime within a year.

“It won’t be too distant in the future,” said Yoshida. “It won’t be a year, it won’t be two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned.”

Final Fantasy XVI was released for the PlayStation 5 in June 2023. The game saw sluggish sales on PS5 after reaching the 3 million milestone, so a PC version would likely help recover some of the company’s losses, which saw it lose nearly $2 billion in market value since the release of Final Fantasy XVI.
