60% of Japanese Gen-Z: 'I Don't Mind If I'm Forever Single'

IT company Biglobe conducted a survey on attitudes toward marriage, and the results showed that 60% of Japanese Generation Z don’t mind if they’re ‘forever single.’

The company conducted the survey online from September 12 to 14 and received responses from 1,000 men and women aged 18 to 69 across Japan.

When asked if they want to get married or if they’re already married, 52.6% of Japanese Gen-Z answered yes. As for the other age groups, 60.4% of those aged 25-29 said yes, 58% of those in their 30s said yes, 59% of those in their 40s, and 67% of those in their 50s said yes. The oldest group in their 60s had 72% answer yes.

On the other hand, when asked whether they would be concerned about being single for the rest of their lives, 60.6% of Generation Z answered that they would not mind if they were forever single. The highest number of respondents aged 25 to 29 responded similarly at 62%. The lowest were among those in their 60s at 39%.
