Tokyo Taxi Driver Arrested for Running Over Pigeon

A deranged taxi driver from Tokyo was arrested for angrily running over a flock of pigeons and killing one because he was angry that the birds were on a “road made for humans.”

50-year-old Atsushi Ozawa from Nakano Ward, Tokyo, was arrested on December 5 for using his taxi to kill an ordinary pigeon, which isn’t considered a game animal in Japan, thus breaking wildlife protection laws.

According to the police report, Ozawa was at a traffic light and plowed his vehicle into a bevy of pigeons at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour when the lights turned green, which resulted in the death of a pigeon.

A veterinarian performed a postmortem on the fallen fowl and determined its death was a result of traumatic shock.

When questioned by the investigators, Ozawa admitted to the charges and stated, “Roads are for humans, and pigeons should be the ones to get out of the way.”
