Even Western media are inspiring manga adaptations, with Omocat’s indie RPG Omori getting a seinen manga adaptation published by Kodansha. Omori’s manga adaptation is being serialized in Kodansha’s seinen magazine Monthly Afternoon.
Omori is already heavy-handed on themes like death and depression, which is likely why it had to go for a more mature adaptation of the source material. The adaptation is being handled by relative newcomer Nui Konoito, with an art style markedly different from the simple expressions of the original work.
As Omocat has mentioned, it’ll be both for longtime fans and newcomers, and it will likely be a relatively faithful adaptation of the game’s story.
Feel like its just going to pander to the toxic shipping fanbase
Looks interesting.
The artist behind Omori is quite based, so I’m willing to support the manga if he’s on the team.
