A Warrior of Light accused of being a stalker on Final Fantasy XIV was arrested on October 17th for continuously sending messages to a woman he met in the MMORPG.
According to the report, the 38-year-old office worker from Tokyo was arrested on suspicion of violating the Stalking Control Act between March 20th and May 16th. The stalker allegedly fell in love with a 28-year-old woman he met in Final Fantasy XIV, then used the in-game chat and social networking sites such as LINE and X to stalk the woman.
The man sent her messages saying, “I want to have a conversation,” “I’ll tell your family (About everything we’ve talked about so far), and more for a total of 22 messages. However, when questioned by the police, he partially denied the charges, saying, “I never had romantic feelings.”
The two met in Final Fantasy XIV in 2019 and continued to communicate through game chat and social media, but after the woman blocked him, the stalker continued following her character in the game and messaged her, saying, “Please don’t leave me.”
Avoiding stalkers in-game in FFXIV can be tricky. If they were ever on your friend list, unfriending them won’t remove you from their list. So they can still see your online status and location, including inside dungeons or visiting other servers. It’s been a huge problem for a lot of people since the game’s launch. I think the only way to avoid them is visiting another data center, but I haven’t confirmed that. Either way, there are things you can only do on your home server so you still have to go back from time to time.
Based on the s♥♥t he said, I’m going to guess the woman flirted with him and probably got his hopes up IRL, and the moron actually believed it.
I do think it’s funny that he thought saying “I’ll tell your parents” to a 28 year old would somehow matter lmao
The Japs need to drop two shots on Little Boy again.
Oppenheimer wants that too.
What the actual f♥♥k are you talking about?
