The announcement nearly 10 years ago about a Tetris movie being in the works has turned out to be real as the first trailer for the movie has arrived, and revealing that the film will seemingly focus mostly on the Soviet Union and politics, elements that should hardly prove surprising in current year.
The Tetris movie will explore the “origins” of the puzzle game as Henk Rogers obtains the rights to the game from Russian creator Alexey Pajitnov during the Cold War.
The trailer for the movie discloses a lot of the story and is naturally rife with the usual “comedy” that now plagues most Western movies:

A proper documentary about the history of Tetris would’ve been a good idea, but this is filled with cringe humour and the usual Hollywood diversity garbage.
Idk about the diversity garbage part, it could be a bait and switch but the only black person in the movie was a random blurred out nobody in the background somewhere.
The asians don’t count as diversity garbage either considering the context. (Also diversity hiring was never for asians, it was just for niggers, it’s not really about diversity, any more than feminism is about equal rights between genders after all…)

I tried but I couldn’t even finish this trailer. The CGI on the “soviet union” tank parade made me appreciate the CGI that I used to consider bad in anime.
The fake college humor Minesweeper Movie trailer was better than this. I would rather rewatch the one minute Mega64 Tetris skit video on repeat for double the length of however long this absolute garbage is going to run.
