Man Stabs Former Idol to Death ”We Were Dating!”

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested a 54-year-old man after the eviscerated body of a 24-year-old former idol, who he claimed to have been dating, was found at a hotel in Fuchu.

On February 3rd, Akira Ishikawa, whose occupation is unknown, was arrested by police under the suspicion of murdering the unemployed 24-year-old Sana Hirabayashi by stabbing her in the head and other parts of the body at a hotel in Fuchu.

Nearby security camera footage showed the two enter the hotel on February 2nd at around 2:00 a.m., and only Ishikawa leaving the room four hours later, but it wasn’t until almost 24 hours later at around 1:00 a.m. when a hotel employee became suspicious that Hirabayashi had not left the room, and called the police.

Police found the victim dead in a room on the second floor, naked and bleeding from the neck, and the suspect, Ishikawa, was quickly apprehended about a kilometer from the hotel after a passerby saw him exhausted on the floor by his apartment building.

Ishikawa admitted to the crime in response to the police interrogation and said he used a knife to cut the victim’s neck three times while she slept. The victim, Hirabayashi, was previously an idol and had ambitions to work in the entertainment industry.

According to the investigation, Ishikawa had met Hirabayashi numerous times, so the two were acquaintances. Ishikawa told the police that the victim had reached out in December last year regarding debts owed for a smartphone app.

While the police concluded that the two were acquaintances and were perhaps even close friends, they were not convinced that the two “were dating” due to Ishikawa’s baffling remarks and speculated that he had killed her after she had rejected his advances.
