Dungeon Fighter Online China Censorship Indescribably Ridiculous

Dungeon Fighter Online, a Korean MMORPG, was hit with a slew of censorship in its Chinese variant, altering a humongous amount of artwork for all sorts of reasons, from the depiction of verboten religious symbols to “bloody” body parts, exposed female body parts, and even tattoos.

According to a thread on the subject, this isn’t the first time the game was censored in China, and the update implementing this censorship was said to be 7 GB in size.

Screenshots comparing the uncensored version of the game with the now censored version, along with a short description of what was changed:

This is hardly a rare occurrence for the dictatorial country, though, such manipulation and controlling of what consumers are allowed to enjoy has become a frighteningly common thing in the West.
