The IdolMaster recently celebrated its 17th anniversary with a special livestream, and aside from announcing new concerts, the franchise’s songs coming to streaming services, and other news, a demonstration of the IdolMaster MR Project (“MORE RE@LITY”) was also unveiled.

The IdolMaster MR Project intends to expand each idols’ activities beyond that of the game, and that real-time motion capture technology and mixed reality will be promoted as the “axis of future strategies”.
To expand on the idols’ activities, the IdolMaster MR Project intends to focus more on virtual reality and augmented reality to promote them along with strengthening the technology in the process, as well as by making the franchise’s music available on streaming services.
“Connect with Fans” was also labeled the “mid-term vision” for the franchise.
The 17th anniversary livestream also divulged other news, such as a Tokyo Dome concert in February 2023 and orchestra-based concerts.
A demonstration for the MR Project was released as the last part of the 17th anniversary livestream and has Haruka dancing in augmented reality alongside two human comrades:

The IdolMaster franchise used to do “MR Stage” events that also involved the idols coming to life through augmented reality performances, but those have since closed; it is said these were used as an inspiration for the MR Project.

Worldwide birthrate is slowly declining. The last big baby boom was after WW2. Higher prices due to inflation and higher cost of living means less need for kids. Do you also want kids too in the first place?? Japan is just more apparent because they don’t have a open immigration system like most of the world to compensate for it so be thankful for that. Nothing to do with Anime or 2D, you dunce.

I feel bad for the 2 girls having to play backup to some CGI “Idol”, hope they are getting paid well.
