Sony’s PlayStation 5 has slowly continued to accrue success in terms of sales as the device has managed to achieve 20 million sales worldwide, only about a fifth of the alleged amount of Nintendo Switches sold at 107 million.
Veronica Rogers, who serves as Sony Interactive Entertainment’s SVP and is head of global sales, thanked the consumers and talked about “winning the world over”, despite other consoles selling far better:
“We are thrilled to share that Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has sold more than 20 million PlayStation 5 consoles globally. Since PlayStation 5’s launch, our teams have worked tirelessly to deliver a truly next-gen gaming console that has won the world over and we want to take this time to thank the fans for their support. Your passion for the PlayStation brand is what drives us and what inspires us to innovate new technology, engineer the future of gaming, and continue creating the best place to play.”
Those still on the hunt for a PS5 to purchase have been promised a “significant ramp-up” in console production, courtesy of Rogers once again:
“To those fans who have yet to get their hands on a console, please know that we are planning on a significant ramp-up in PlayStation 5 production this year and we are working endlessly to make sure that PlayStation 5 is available for everyone who wants one.”

Censorship and every game looking and playing largely the same. Almost no variance in art style, everything always HAS to be Realistic™ graphics and character designs, stories always have to be completely retarded and trying to shoehorn in as much woke politics as possible into them and character designs as well, characters are hideous on purpose instead of an even spread of ugly, average, pretty, so it’s pretty obvious what they’re doing there too. Gameplay is damn near nonexistent too since most of them involve going from A to B to get several minutes of dialogue/cutscenes.
Yeah, moving HQ to cucknifornia was a fucking terrible move to say the least, there is absolutely no passion in their “games” any more.
Which is why Playstation started to go downhill after the PS2 (especially so after the PS3). No political s♥♥t, no woke retardation, unique and weird ideas/games happened quite often and sure censorship was also a thing but that was regional censorship and not international censorship (but doesnt matter, censorship is retarded any way you look at it).
Heck, in general i would say that everything was fine up until the end of 6th gen. Everything after it? Gnah. If it werent for the Switch (the only actual gaming console currently), i would have gone full-time old-school mode a long time ago.
support free and open source alternatives so that these companies will have less control over the industry. PC gaming on linux so far is the way. Even FOSS game engines like Godot and renpy exist

Sony could have taken a different course in history, but chose the wrong path and is now paying the price by adopting a formula that goes against what made the company stay on top of consoles since the launch of the first Playstation. Two rules here: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And you can’t mess with a team that is winning.
Sony has a long history of making poor decisions. They make great hardware, but the executives have to be complete retards.
The original PSX only was as successful as it was because the suits didn’t bother interfering and wrote the project off as sunk cost. And the PS2 only continued this success because it included a DVD player and Nintendo didn’t, because Nintendo was always out of touch with reality.
And if you look back at the games on PSX and PS2, there were just SO MANY. All sorts of interesting experimental stuff.
Look at gaming now, and there’s maybe one game like that per 1-3 years.
If they can make more money with less effort, they have no motive to put in more effort, but every motive to put in less of it.
