Japanese 2021 Births Sink to a Catastrophic New Low

Japan’s issues with struggling birth rates have sadly caused a new record low, bound to have many wondering if hikikomori and NEETs are attributing to this ordeal, or if it is still due to abysmally inhuman work hours (or perhaps something else entirely).

Japan’s health ministry asserted that only 842,897 babies came into the world in 2021, which is down 3.4% in comparison to 2020, and serving as the most devastating low since records were first kept back in 1899.

This deterioration in births has continued for the sixth year in a row, and furthermore, it is estimated that 1,452,289 Japanese citizens passed away in that same year, which is up by more than 67,000 from the previous year, and said to be the highest since the conclusion of World War II.

Marriages were down by 23,000 from the last year at 514,242, though, health ministry officials have guessed some citizens might have chosen not to conceive due to the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic.

People will be wondering what exactly will need to be done to convince men to submit to the ball and chain and reproduce, as previous efforts involving giving would-be parents money has apparently failed.
