I wish I weren’t serious but I don’t joke when it comes to things like this.. they are a very serious matter. I see a therapist regularly which helps more to understand the how and why as well as how to regulate and cope with the internalized self hatred. Something you have to understand though is it’s not something you can just fix easily with medication or talk your way out of. Even people who are chemically castrated still have an active pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Your brain still releases vasospressin and oxytocin in regular doses when subjected to something that would otherwise stimulate arousal. You can suppress these with harsh medication but it really fucks with your body chemistry in a bad way. Despite being in the DSM-V as a mental disorder it both is and isn’t in retrospect. A person can no more control who or what they are sexually attracted to than a meteorologist can control the weather. Acting on your sexual urges in a negative way is the core problem most people face. Similarly to how serial killers become so pent up they cannot resist the urge to kill. I can paint a vivid enough picture in my mind to get by without the real thing which makes it easier to deal with but not everyone has that luxury. In all my years since I came to the realization I have never once even remotely came close to acting out a fantasy or touch a child in the real world. In fact, despite my particular proclivity I actually can’t stand being around children. Not because of any potential for temptation. I just find them annoying to be around. So it actually works out in my favor despite sounding hypocritical. It’s rather difficult to explain in a way that makes sense though.
