Netflix, always on the lookout for franchises to capitalize on, has set its sights on the revered DOTA 2 as they have teased a trailer for “DOTA: Dragon’s Blood”, a series that will focus on Davion, the Dragon Knight, a hero from the popular online multiplayer game.
The show will consist of eight episodes and will be produced by Studio MIR (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender) – Netflix provided a summary of the plot:
The upcoming fantasy series tells the story of Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight devoted to wiping the scourge from the face of the world. Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurm as well as the noble Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.
The teaser trailer:
March 25th is when DOTA: Dragon’s Blood will become available on the platform.
Another horrible garbage cartoon from Netflix false advertising itself as anime
This. I have no problem if you want to make an animated adaptation of Japanese source material (that I wouldn’t care anyway) but don’t go around parading it as “anime” when the studio is not even Japanese.
Concerning the term “anime” in the west, this is my definition:
Anime is animation funded and produced, primarily, by Japanese for, primarily, the Japanese audience.
We have an intuitive idea of what the art style is, so I leave that for big brains to debate “art”. And we all know “anime” in Japan is ANYTHING animated.
As far as I’ve seen, all attempts of defining “anime” from a western perspective focus on presentation style.
Unless someone has a more apt definition, this is what I’m sticking with.
while not true anymore (and for really reaaaaaly a long time now)
anime used to be – adulit thing, heavy discussion on general life – showing things from other points of view like “bad” guy was not really bad guy
no problem with showing “negative” parts of things no censor for gore mordbid thing etc etc.
– cartoons or if you want american “anime” (*spit*) is – its drawn? its has to be for kids!
I personally make sure to don’t watch Netflix anime after what they have done with castlevania and Baki.
Netflix getting too much closer to anime and Japan is truly not a good thing
What’s bad with Castlevania?
Personally I couldn’t watch Castelvania. And it wasn’t even some propaganda s♥♥t. It was simply extremely cringe hearing characters say words like “f♥♥k” and “s♥♥t”.

What did they did to Baki again? Is it worse than Kengan Asura?
In Baki, they created a scene not in the manga where they were doing no border, muh diversity propaganda. In Castlevania, they literally blackwashed a character for no reason and pushed faggotery to unnecessary level.
I won’t even talk about all other 3dcg garbage they’ve done.

they are good series, it is you who do not recognize the quality
Hahaha no. Can’t say about Baki since I never saw/read it, but I did read Kengan manga at one point so I should be allow to speak my thoughts no? I had never seen the Kengan anime fully but I did come across some clips and even as a CG anime defender I can’t defend it.
Castlevania and Baki are good but hater gonna haters
Then STFU Anonymous -2.
animators in japan think differently, indeed they thank Netflix
Two turbocringe subhuman companies join hands
They’re still better than the putrid garbage filth that infests the comments of Sankaku complex such as yourself.
Pot calling the kettle black, how original. (>_>)’
He has a point though
i think dragon knight’s voice actor in this adaptation does not suit him. I prefer dragon knights accent and voice actor in dota 2
He’s gonna die episode 1 like Ga-rei Zero, then be replaced by a transgender POC
