Japan’s most lucrative anime film, Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train, has been submitted to potentially win the Best Animated Feature category at the Oscars, and if it passes the voting process, it will be the sixth anime film to be nominated in two years.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train has secured numerous records in Japan as it attained ¥32.47 billion back in December 2020, surpassing Studio Ghibli’s “Spirited Away” and acquiring the title of highest-grossing movie in Japan.
The revered movie even attained the “Best Anime” award via 2019’s Newtype Anime Awards and was labeled “Anime of the Year” for 2020 by Crunchyroll.
By entering into the 93rd Academy Awards, the film will have to contend with such releases as “Onward”, Netflix’s “Over the Moon”, and Studio Ghibli’s “Earwig and the Witch”.
The nominations will not be disclosed until March 25th.

It won’t make it and we all know it.
The people that vote for the oscars don’t actually watch all of the movies they’re voting on so they work off of word of mouth to fill in the gaps, these are old people with old people friends so when it comes to animation their closest source of information is their kids or grandkids who watch Pixar/Disney stuff.
And then Twitter will throw a s♥♥t fit because they’re stupid enough to think any non-Pixar film has a chance of winning the Animated Feature Oscar.

WE ALL KNOW THE MOVIE WONT GET NOMINATED AND EVEN IF THERE IS A SNOWBALL’S CHANCE THAT THEY DO, THEY WILL BE PASSED OVER A US HOLLYWOOD ANIMATED FILM!
