Hideo Kojima has expressed a desire to make another horror game, going as far as to wish players to ruin their trousers while playing it; probably a very simple task judging by the timid nature (if not overreacting) of YouTube’s video content creators.
Kojima recently conducted an interview with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in light of the critical success of delivery boy simulation game Death Stranding. When asked about 2014’s P.T., Kojima said that he would like to make another game in the same genre, hoping to induce involuntary defecation in players:
P.T. ended as just an experiment, but I would like to make another horror game someday. Something that uses a revolutionary method to create terror, that doesn’t just make you pee your pants, but crap them. I already have ideas in mind.
The interview also led to Kojima talking about previous titles and the industry in general. Perhaps most notably, he suggested that Metal Gear Solid 2‘s ability to succeed was due to the absence of social media at the time of its release. The creator said that negative social media campaigning due to the game’s unconventional nature could have led to its failure if it were released today.
Kojima also claimed that the tendency towards creating formulaic games is going so far that eventually, artificial intelligence will make remakes and sequels based on marketing data – something that cynical gamers may suspect is already happening.
If he did something like PT it would be nice.

A made in abyss horror game would be killer. Would be kinda hard though, considering the horror themes in it mostly involve pain, which is kinda hard to emulate.
