A babysitter situated in Texas demonstrated her expertise in the profession by “accidentally” shooting a 10-year-old boy while she was busy taking a selfie with a gun, an incident that will undoubtedly end her career.
Taking place at an apartment in Houston, the 19-year-old relative was babysitting a 10-year-old boy when she happened upon a gun; immediately abandoning the fact that the instrument is capable of inflicting irreversible damage and death, the brain-dead woman started brandishing it while taking selfies.
Posing with the firearm and likely pretending she was some sort of “super sexy gunman” to brag to her friends, the weapon discharged and pierced the 10-year-old boy’s stomach – he was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition but is currently stable after being given surgery.
The woman gave the rather pitiful excuse that she believed the gun was unloaded.
Charges have not been doled out yet as an investigation is still underway.
Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland delivered a message to remind the ignorant public that guns are not toys:
“Firearms are dangerous weapons so take precautions to make sure things like that don’t happen. Taking selfies was not the best thing to be doing.”
Reason to teach gun safety in schools in the CORRECT way instead of just “GuNs ArE bAd!” and telling kids to turn them in to cops for destruction! Teach IMPORTANT things, like checking if the gun is loaded, how to SAFELY remove ammo from it, like removing the bullet or shell from the chamber WITHOUT firing it! Checking if the safety is on, and how to keep it from the hands of an idiot!
Kids need to be taught not to mess with guns, and high schoolers taught how NOT to hold one!
Again, IMPORTANT lessons for guns are the following!
1: Check if the safety is ON!
2: Removing magazines, clips, and any bullets from the gun itself!
3: Checking the chamber of the gun and EJECTING it from the chamber!
What NOT to teach regarding guns!
1: Teaching kids to turn in guns to the police
2: Telling kids to fear guns!
3: Disregarding the 2nd amendment of the United States Constitution and ILLEGALLY pushing for ILLEGAL “gun control” legislation.
You are not wrong and everything you have stated is correct, but you missed a ton of more important basic firearms safety rules; such as consider all firearms to be loaded until you have personally cleared it, muzzle always only at target’s directions or at the ground/sky, situation awareness around and beyond the target’s directions, finger off trigger, get and do use the gun lock and the gun safe when you get your gun, even if it is your bed gun before bedtime. You should always lock your house and car doors right? Same idea.
Treat all the above so much you develope your discipline, personal habit, and muscle memory to always follow all of the above. Always a fck tons of “professionals” with more powers of some sort I want to chew out for not following the basic of the basics. I don’t get your point about not turning gun in to the police. Do you live in some third world dictatorship? If kids find a gun some criminal tossed over the fence, it’s obvious they should turn it over either to their parents, teachers, or the police directly, because that’s where an unknown gun belongs, so that it can be connected to whatever crime it was used in or simply returned to its owner if it was stolen.
