Fictional songstress Hatsune Miku will be gracing Coachella alongside other musical celebrities of varying renown come April, a rather startling announcement that was probably expected by her dedicated worshipers considering Miku’s growing influence in the West.
The performers that will be present at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (a festival dedicated to music and arts that is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California every year) were announced via the event’s official Twitter, though many were surprised to notice that Hatsune Miku would also be attending on April 10th and April 17th:
Though most commenters were preoccupied with the other flesh and blood performers, the virtual diva did manage to accrue a slight bit of attention:
Miku has participated in collaborations with Western artists before and has even served as the introduction to Lagy Gaga concerts.
Nice
The world needs more miku
I would want to go to Coachella just to dance to Miku and rock out to Rage Against The Machine.
Rage Against The Machine is back together again?
Hatsune Miku
Virtuals idols are cool and all but I’m more concerned with where the music industry is going with band names like Mannequin Pussy and Viagra Boys
Well, people are talking about it so it’s working well, I guess? Also, easily one of the best bands is called ‘Queen’ and it’s full of dudes. The subverting of conventions is a big part of music and art.
Don’t worry, everyone uses Random Word Generators nowadays. They pick whatever makes a 10-year-old boy giggle.
