Forever Entertainment (who are also remaking Panzer Dragoon I and II) is cooperating with Sega to bring remakes of the first two House of the Dead arcade shooters to hardcore fans, yet another attempt to generate sales through nostalgia – though, taking into account the horrible English dubs of both games, some might consider remakes to be worthwhile.
The remakes of both games are said to be faithful to their original stories and will boast upgraded visuals; purists may be disappointed as it has also been suggested that gameplay will be adjusted in some unspecified fashion.
MegaPixel studio will develop both on-rails shooters and Forever Entertainment (who will serve as co-producer and publisher) mentioned that they will show the game off in the coming months – the remake is scheduled for a target release of 2020.
Platforms are as of yet undecided, though many suspect the Nintendo Switch to be the most obvious choice – examples of the horrible English dubbing of the original games in celebration:
Won’t be as fun if you can’t use a light gun on the game. Those old enough to play the games at the arcades would know what I mean.
VR is perfect for Lightgun games at least with the Vive/Index controllers, It is by far the most accurate peripheral for the genre ever since the CRT TV lightguns. All Lightgun games should be ported to VR.
Light guns were super fun. I wonder if we’ll ever get proper light gun action again in the future.

I hope they use the joy cons if it goes on to the nintendo switch and if it works, the should get more light gun games for the switch like Area 51 & Area 51 sector 4 (I think?) then get the time crisis series along with carn-evil with maximum force that terrorist shooter game that was made by the same developer that made area 51.

House of the Dead 2, 3 , 4 and Overkill are on the PS3.
They work perfectly though.
