A man in his twenties has been arrested for threatening to murder NGT48’s Yuka Ogino.
A 24-year-old man named Kazuki Domoto has been arrested after sending a letter claiming that he would kill Yuka Ogino, an idol in AKB48 sister band NGT48. The man allegedly sent the threats by fax (which is still widely used in Japan) to a news organization from a Kyoto convenience store on the 9th of May.
Niigata prefectural police have said that the suspect was identified through CCTV footage and the convenience store fax machine’s transmission records. They added that the man admitted to sending the offending fax but denied that he wished to kill the 20-year-old idol.
The man’s motive for the incident is not yet clear, although it may relate to the attack on Maho Yamaguchi, after which Yamaguchi blamed fellow NGT48 members for revealing her address to the attackers.

They’re not allowed to date a fan while working as an idol. They have to be seen as “Pure”. It’s not a huge issue as most idols retire when they reach a certain age. So they’ll have their idol cash from “industry here” to live on with their future partner.
in a lot of recent groups that isn’t quite the case anymore, but also a lot of the larger outfits are wards to young girls so parents will withdraw their kids if the seniors are off being slappers.
Just disband NGT48 already.

Seems obvious the man has mental health issues and reacted badly when his “dream” idol didn’t respond to his tweets or whatever else NGT48 used. So the silly fucker then got aggressive with his communications and along come the cops to arrest his sorry ass.
