A well-known YouTube channel that has been in existence for a long time and boasts 500,000+ subscribers has been forced to remove all its Nintendo-related musical uploads due to Nintendo blocking their content, an unsurprising turn of events considering the company’s dedication to quashing all fan-created parodies.
The channel (which had been in existence since 2010) provided the following statement on the matter:
“We are removing all videos containing music owned by Nintendo, since they have finally begun to block their content on our channel. This is a fair warning, so we are acting accordingly to avoid copyright strikes. We don’t want another situation like when Smash Ultimate was leaked 2 weeks early. We will no longer upload Nintendo content.”
The dedicated fans of video game music supposedly did not receive revenue for their uploads but were hit with copyright blocks regardless, upsetting their loyal followers as there are apparently not many outlets through which to legally purchase or listen to Nintendo music – comments regarding this decision via a Reddit thread and on their newest videos:
Reggie was not only an incompetent boob but would have had zero problem with this- as Nintendo has been going after this kind of content for YEARS. I don’t know why dumb fucking assholes put that f♥♥k on a pedestal the second he left the company, but you can thank him for constantly declining US releases of games because he didn’t like them- a fact he bragged about and more or less told the fans their wishes never mattered to him.
I couldn’t be happier the incompetent pizza-brained imbecile is gone. Reggie liked to pull-out the Copyright Card all the time as well, something a lot of people have conveniently forgotten. Reggie didn’t actually do anything as head of NoA except look impressive for the directs. Well, unless you count him nearly blocking several titles from American release (it was only the fact that NoE localized Xenoblade AND that it sold out in its first week of release – a condition Reggie was recorded placing on the game before he’d even consider an American release – that saw the US getting the game), blocking multiple titles from American release, and then raping, ahem, censoring many titles besides (from breast sliders and bikinis to text and all points between).
Hey everyone! You see all those lovely games heading to the Switch that Sony is censoring on their system? Given Reggie’s track record, he’d NEVER allow those titles to come to the US in ANY form.
