China’s latest elevator-based accident has sadly occurred as an older father-in-law fell to his death after stepping into what he thought was the elevator after his son-in-law forced open the doors before it actually arrived.
Caught by surveillance cameras in an unspecified Chinese city, the victim’s son-in-law can be seen impatiently prying open the elevator doors (apparently he had a key) despite the actual lift not yet arriving; unfortunately the older man was unaware and ended up walking into and falling down the elevator shaft 8 meters to his death.
The surveillance footage:
While a tragic happening, some may at least have more pity for the man than the victim of a previous elevator disaster…
wow…. thats so fkng stupid thing to do…. elevators doors open on their own, plus the lights are ALWAYS ON inside, and even if the lights are off, you could still see inside the elevator
That’s for properly maintained, working elevators. Common sense doesn’t apply to China quality installations.
unfortunately chinese elevators s
Chinese are so damn low IQ.
My guess is the China quality elevator doors were broken and this guy was used to having to operate them manually. The old guy, feeling important like asian old guys do, felt the urge to get in first and was too busy pushing his way through to notice the elevator wasn’t there. Congrats to the guy! Got rid of a senile nuisance and now has a case to demand money and elevator repairs from the landlord!
The “Landlord” is the government, so good luck winning that suit.
Maybe he wanted to kill himself and this was his chance.
You can’t win vs against a communist nation bub.
This is not Chinese quality, this is Chinese stupidity…
Actually, I think this is assassination.
No, I don’t feel pity for him. He was fucking stupid and made a mistake worthy of Darwin Award. People like that do not deserve pity.
Some peoples only reason for being there, is to be a warning to others….
Not sure if this counts as a darwin award as this guy already managed to breed.

Riiku my doge, you’re on fire.
It’s as you allude to, this was his limit as a sentient being.
