A Precure fan has spent almost $30,000 buying every DVD and CD related to the franchise.
Twitter user “Shota” has unveiled his collection of Precure DVDs and CDs, apparently comprising every release related to the franchise. Shota claims that the entire collection of DVDs of the anime cost a total of ¥2.33 million, and the soundtrack CDs released up to May 2018 totalled ¥660,000, meaning that the cost of acquiring his collection was very nearly ¥3,000,000.
Despite the Hiroshima native’s questionable priorities in life, many followers have expressed admiration of his collection:
“This is a national heritage site!”
“Scary!”
“You could buy a new car for the price of that collection!”
“Sugoi sugoi!”
“Couldn’t he have just taped it off the TV?”
The diabetes-inducing collection can be seen below:
I have seen worse collections that costed more money.
The Precures really so proud to you. You earn their respect.
Nice, but not that impressive. My videogame collection (mostly visual novels, so the “game” part is debatable) is worth about 3 times as much. Heck, dudes purchasing life-sized figures spend that much on just one article. Still, better than buying 1,000 copies of the same CD.
A single-fan buying 100+ copies of an album is madness.
Fans like that are the pillars that keep a niche thing alive. When it comes to niche, you need the crazies buying 100s of copies because every copy counts!
Cant fault him. Im glad he has a nice hobby that brings him joy.
I wish I had the motivation to have a good job and enjoy activities like he does. Instead, I live in my bedroom and jack off all day while hating myself.
Not like he threw down and bought all this in one go. He bought it as it was released year by year. Still pricey as f♥♥k though to buy all the DVDs and CDs, which are not only sound tracks, but character songs year by year.
look into passive income and be patience. That guy build his treasure over time. When looking back my Manga/Figurine/Tabletops Collection in sum would be between 10k-20k as well. Startet with 12yr.
Ooh, nice!
