Production IMS’s fate has finally been exposed through the letters it has been sending out to its former animators, with the studio officially declaring bankruptcy and no doubt sending fans into depression in the process.
Animators working for Production IMS last year had raised the suspicions of many online after it had been revealed that the studio was no longer paying them, causing many theories to arise about potential financial issues – but now it has been confirmed that the studio is bankrupt:
Production IMS opened its doors in 2013 and managed to animate numerous shows, some of which were sexier service-laden ones such as Shinmai Maou no Testament and Masou Gakuen HxH – other anime they worked on include Hai-Furi, Ore Twintail ni Narimasu and Joukamachi no Dandelion.
That is depressing. I really liked the shows they did. Particularly Shinmai Maou Testament.
Agreed, i actually found it more satisfying that High School DxD. The MC actually was a bit of an Alpha.
Question here. Did you like it enough to buy a copy to support the studio?
yes, problem is they closed the studio in dec and with this news the remaining staffs will be gone for sure.
Yeah, I did numbnuts… Did You??
I’m sure you just happen to be one of those that actually pay for the things they want, unlike say, the anime reviewers who complain about how studios are catering to other people, while encouraging their fans to pirate anyways.
hard to say if that would matter unless you live in japan. Anime licensing works a little odd outside some times its a royalty per dvd othertimes its a flat fee and rights themselves are a gumble between companies in japan just because they make it doesn’t mean they maintain the rights to license it outside or even inside the market.
In both the flat fee and royalty per dvd, it matters. Because if people don’t buy it, the overseas company shuts down and they don’t get the flat fee for future works. It looks like you are just making excuses.
Awww, I liked watching Ore Twintail ni Narimasu .
Actually, this is probably pure financial management issues, production IMS also do a lot of good quality lower level in-between animations. Basically, so they go bankruptcy because they do not make enough money.
If there are rich company save the company fast enough conserving the staffs, then the company can be saved. But staffs have options like remaking another company leaving the debts behind too, like the case of AIC. In any case, staffs with their talents should be able to find work easily.
Who will make more Masou Gakuen HxH and Shinmai Maou no Testament now???
Hopefully not who makes the new DxD season.
Not gonna happen, this shitty anime is fking dead.
Except for those who comes to watch DxD in a more “Moe”-ish kind of tone
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so no more season of shinmai mao no testament DAM
