Who gives a f♥♥k about shat oscar these days? They have not been relevant for quite some while now. Miyazaki never did receive an actual oscar, only a “honorary” one, so did a number of equally talented anime animators, because they are not Murican enough making boring shat animations that nobody but toddlers watches, so the parents can catch some Z time.
Oh I am sorry, those are not animation, they are now “anime” too, just like how French “mainstream” now suddenly considers animations to be “anime” too, and have their shat fucking animations pollute my anime searches on online shopping or auctioning sites.
f♥♥k off. Suddenly anime is good enough for you? No longer “bad art with bad plot” not worthy to be called art nor animation? f♥♥k off ya wankers, nobody but toddlers likes your shat.
Let me guess, now fuckers who don’t otakuism nor “weeb” are going to drop by on here and says there are no good anime now, when there are at least dozens of nice ones every year for more than the last half decades, and almost all of the last half century.
What does oscar have to offer? How many of them film award recipients dated well to this day? Even from the last decade or two? Their shats have plots so immature it is only fit for actual kidults most of the time.
P.S. even toddlers with parents I am related to, acquainted with, helps babysits, or watches over, prefers anime for toddlers over these animation shat A-lists.
And they are anime I can watch and gets entertained with, complete with wholesome nice character building, moral promoting, and family values showing lessons, not more shat trash talking by shat drawn characters.
This said, SAO is good, more worthy than almost all oscar animation winners, but not remotely the best anime movie around.
Ordinal Scale….
Okay, I think I’m drunk but then I see no bottles of booze. WHAT. THE. f♥♥k.
ordinal scale is a joke. this movie was made only for SAO fans. i hate to say it, but even silent voice has no chance. Eleven Arts is so freaking desperate to promote A Silent Voice, probably because they overpaid for the licensing and distribution in the US.
If Your Name couldn’t even get nominated into top 5, there is no chance for anything else here. i’ve seen em all and none of them stand out, and are too unknown or culturally different to even be considered.
at very best, MAYBE mary and the witches flower because of the ghibli-esque animation style. but everything else will fall short.
Mary and the Witch’s Flower & In This Corner of the World, those two are cultural, and not daily life of schoolgirls, or fan services, or moe.
