Alongside an English-translated version of a previous trailer for the live action Full Metal Alchemist movie comes news of Fumihiko Sori (the movie’s director) and Ryosuke Yamada (the actor playing Edward) attending “Anime Expo” in Los Angeles for the film’s first ever overseas panel, a prime opportunity for westerners to see one of their favorite Japanese actors and directors in person.
The English-subtitled trailer that many may already be familiar with:
Anime Expo will take place from July 1st to July 4th, with the Full Metal Alchemist movie debuting in theaters on December 1st.
Fake hair everywhere…
Oh, you’ll love when all european turn into Japanese huh?
Makes you wonder if they enjoy making crappy movies.
I know right… their so bad… *pfssh XD
This is one series I honestly think would be better if they used English actors.
At least Alex Armstrong should be American
Well… u hv to find a blond midget that speak japanese…
That or dub the voice.
I don’t think so bcoz Japan love to make live action anime movie without any foreigners help especially when US make live action movie from one anime series they always whitewashing the series so there’s no reason why Japan need to use white actor in their movie……..
The anime is based on a Germanic area. Tons of blonde people. It just doesn’t work with asian actors. The same way the whitewashing of anime films usually fails epically and ends up being s♥♥t.
you mean like in Attack on Titan where they’re using trucks and stinger missiles when the lack of use of such things is a major plot point in the source?
Well bruh, Japan doesn’t have enough white actors that speak fluent Japanese to play in their films. The same CAN’T be said here in the states where there’s a very sizable Asian population.
Also, casting is only part of the reason anime films fail, the deviation from the original source combined with poor writing & direction are also major factors.
Mmmmm… midget with a blonde wig….
