The 13th broadcast of the exceedingly popular Re:Zero has become the subject of more turmoil as the inadequate Subaru gets himself involved in another deadly situation, leading to a death of a different sort and possibly acting as a motivator for him to thrive in the episodes to come.
Omake:
For anyone talking s♥♥t abt Subaru, try getting yourself cut up then reattached and cut up again just to be reattached again.
I’m pretty sure u’ll talk like Subaru, maybe worst.
What a heartbreaker ep man…
He can’t tell the truth, guy must be quite traumatized. Wonder what he’ll do. I know what I’d do.
Subaru is probably the best protagonist I’ve seen in a long time, he’s imperfect and it shows, which is what makes him all the more relatable.
I don’t know why everyone put so much expectation on Subaru, a former (or still) NEET.
I know he is suck and have many wrong behavior but he will get polished time to time along the story. That’s how the protagonist get stronger in both mind and physical.
Instead I feel sorry for him that no one cannot understand what he had experienced til now (keep dying to save everyone) which stressed him so much and then, Emilia pissed him off by words, Everything he keep in mind til now exploded, Subaru can’t tolerate anymore. He suffered so much to get to this point. Still, the girl he love most cannot understand his acts. that’s why he almost talk trash even to Emilia in this episode.
And this is someone quote I’ve found along the site:
“so… basically Emilia would rather cut her ties with a person, who risked his life to be her hero, because he gave her special treatment? all he wanted was for you to trust him, not try to pay him back with something he didn’t ask for and leave him alone. it would be better if he looked at Rem the same way he looked at her. oh no, he treats you like you’re royalty (and the like the most beautiful person to him), oh no he didnt stay still when you refused to let him come with you because you were leaving him for his sake (hypocrite), oh no he saves you without you even knowing why, and what’s wrong him, fighting someone much stronger than just to prove he was worthy of being with you…only for you to lose trust in him that you never really gave him. he’s not trustworthy because he can’t keep your selfish promises that basically treats him like a pet (don’t move, stay, don’t follow) but when he protects and saves you and those around you, it’s just a debt that he wants to be paid, even though all he asked for was your trust. i never seen someone pay a debt by giving someone everything but the one thing they wanted.”
I can relate to Subaru’s percieved importance. Two of the main heroines would actually be dead about now if not for his dogged interventions. Also, he’s probably suffering from effects of PTSD having been killed quite a few times by now. It brings his body back; but obviously doesn’t repair the mental trauma.
People take his intentions/persona the wrong way in the story because they obviously don’t know any of that (and he can’t or is too scared of the consequences, to tell them).
Remember, he cant tell them anything about whats happening to him
They seem to be skipping over a lot of details in the anime compared to manga (no clue about light novels). I was really looking forward to Rem meeting the thugs and great spirit making an appearance in the senate.
They even skipped quite an important chat between Subaru and certain person.
