Square Enix have once again stroked their inflated egos as they continue to inform the masses why Final Fantasy XIV is such a spectacular game, this time delving into its aesthetics and visual designs as well as its revolutionary new “flight” feature that clearly no other game before has ever implemented.
The “breath-taking” video:
Final Fantasy XIV can dazzle players with its stunning graphics now for the PC, PS3 and PS4.
I remember when AION was going on about its revolutionary flight, which turned out to be restricted by invisible walls and other stupid bullshit everywhere.
Long before that, Perfect World had flight where you could fly pretty much anywhere.
Regardless, flight is not amazing or complex.
It’s akin to using no clipping mode and moving through the damn world.
Only difference is games slap bullshit limitations on, to make it more frustrating than fun.
As much as I enjoy the game, flight is hardly revolutionary. It’s been in plenty of other MMO’s, it’s just that Final Fantasy has only just caught up. It’s not like flying has any unique game mechanics or purpose, it’s just another way of getting around the map.
As for the visuals, they’re nice but nothing special. By contrast, the original FFXIV had superior character models and other graphics.
Never seen that 3d \ Animation Software…
it’s autodesk maya and zbrush
It’s revolutionarily tedious to unlock.
Flying? They took out the tedious aether currents buried at the end of long side quest chains a long time ago.
F:u:t/@ fantasy lives on!
