Danganronpa‘s transition to the third person shooter genre by way of “Danganronpa Another Episode” has at last been unleashed westwards (or to the blessed land at any rate), prompting the usual naysayers to arrive on cue to deliver their harsh critiques of the game’s admittedly questionable dub work.
The “absolutely atrocious” English trailer:
Danganronpa Another Episode is currently available for purchase in North America.
The english dub isnt even half bad. I played some in english and then switched to japanese. Both are at similar levels.
God this weeaboo “hurr durr i prefuurr japanese even doe i dent understoond it. boot clurly superiuur!” BULLSHIT has to stop
Japanese is always the best option, that is a fact and no one has a right to disagree like come on, their voice actors attend special lessons for years, it’s a real deal profession not anyone can do like in other countries. The variety of voices is much better too.
Still the dub here ins’t THAT bad compared to many others I had to listen to. When reading this article I was afraid I would hate it but I can take this. Sometimes the protagonist will stop sounding like a school girl and like an adult instead, I don’t like this and there are some standard boring voices too but it’s acceptable.
This is ok dub not great not bad….
ok people should shut up Japanese dubs are better besides anime is there thing they created the god damn thing not westerners all we ever made was stupid cartoons like sponge bub funis dubs are overrated s♥♥t that should never exists in the first place
Why shouldn’t it if someone wants to listen to it in English? You’re not special just because you like subtitles.
You would be amazed if you knew the number of countries where the cocept of dubbing foreign made media does not exist.
@Chen-04
They specifically stated countries without dubbing so Norway counts also more than a little sure that they dubbed the “Lord of the Rings” and “Iron Man” but will verify. Also Arabic seems to be a joint UAE-Egypt endeavor.
The number of countries that don’t is also misleading as 15 of the top 20 most populated countries produce a dub. All totaled 60-70 percent of the population could have watched a dub in their first language.
In Norway only childrens movie are re-dubbed. The rest is subtitled.
Well I mean the countries that often produce a dub for domestic consumption include: the USA and commonwealth(the English speaking world mostly shares) France/Quebec, Brazil/Portugal, Mexico/South America/Spain, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Norway, Israel, India, Pakistan, Japan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey and while I am not sure where I know that an Arabic dub is regularly produced.*
Although I don’t know how the smaller countries in the areas act I know that these dubs are often shared around to others in the region who speak the language.
While I don’t know the Africa situation I have heard that the African Union wishes to start releasing media in “local” languages.
*This list is not exhaustive
Komaru’s voice isn’t actually bad. It took me all of an hour to get used to.
However…
Erin Fitzgerald(Not sure if that’s how you spell it)
As Fukawa Just doesn’t fit.
And she can’t really do Crazy as Genocider shou. It just sounds like she’s yelling / being energetic.
